Tyrone top ‘Rising Stars Football Team 2017’ with 4 awards

Four of the undoubted rising stars of Tyrone GAA have today been recognised for their qualities exhibited in S. Mary’s University’s recent historic Sigerson Cup triumph.

The quartet comprising Conor Meyer, Conall McCann, Cathal McShane and Kieran McGeary were selected on the All-star lineup named today by Higher Education GAA.

McGeary and McCann have also been named on the starting Tyrone team to face Kerry in an all or nothing showdown in Killarney this coming Sunday while Meyler And McShane have also been named in the bench.

The 2017 Independent.ie Football & Hurling Rising Stars have been announced today by Independent.ie & Comhairle Ardoideachais.

After a memorable weekend in Bekan, hosted by Comhairle Ardoideachais Connachta, St Marys had a historic victory in the Sigerson Cup. Mary Immaculate College Limerick retained their Fitzgibbon Cup after defeating League Champions IT Carlow in the final.
