Conor McKenna has well and truly made his breakthrough in the Essendon colours in Oz and is now very much making a name or himself in the first team at the club in 2017.

Tyrone GAA can remember the brilliant young Eglish clubman stand out as one of the most exciting players in the country in Tyrone’s march to the All Ireland Minor football championship decider back in 2014. In that season he really was in sensational form, arguably the player of the entire All Ireland minor football championship, and of course he caught the eye of the Aussie Rules scouts soon after and made the transition to the sport in Australia.

We have featured the impressive progress being made by Conor recently in Tyrone Life here and of course still ponder on the impact he could have for the O’Neill County in the upcoming Ulster and All Ireland senior football championship.

All the same it is great to see a Tyrone player do so well for himself and this #GChallenge, featured on The Lucky Charm, which Conor took part in, undoubtedly shows the impressive repertoire of skills he has acquired in his career so far…

The season is well underway now in Australia and Conor has pushed strongly now in the first team, after finishing the 2016 campaign so strongly. A tall and extremely athletic player, his strengths in the air and pace stand out, not to mention his impressive accuracy.
